EFFICACIOUS NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

I.    O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, ask and you 
	will receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be 
	opened to you': Behold, I knock, I seek and ask for the grace 
	of  (here name your request).
		Say the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be
		Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

II.   O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, if you ask 
	anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you'  
	behold , in your name,  I ask the Father for the grace of 
	(here name your request).
		Say the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be
		Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

III.  O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, heaven and 
	earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.' 
	Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace
	of  (here name your request).
		Say the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be
		Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.


O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have 
	compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners 
	which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate 
	Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.
		Say the Hail Holy Queen.
		St Joseph, foster Father of Jesus, pray for us.
	

	PROMISES OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS to
	FAMILIES WHO HONOR HIS MOST SACRED HEART 

1.   I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life

2.   I will establish peace in their families

3.   I will bless every house in which a picture of My Heart shall 
	be exposed and honored

4.   I will console them in all difficulties

5.   I will be their refuge during life and especially at the hour of 
	their death

6.   I will shed abundant blessings upon all their undertakings

7.  Sinners shall find in My Heart a fountain and boundless ocean 
	of mercy

8.  Tepid souls shall become  fervent

9.   Fervent souls shall rise speedily to great perfection

10.  I will give the priests the power of touching the hardest hearts

11.  Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names 
	written in My Heart, never to be blotted out

12.  I promise thee, in the excessive mercy of My Heart, that My all 
	powerful love will grant to all communicate on the first 
	Friday of the month for nine consecutive months the 
	grace of final penitence; they shall not die in My displeasure
	nor without the sacraments; My Divine Heart shall be their 
	safe refuge in this last moment.

		LITANY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
This Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was approved for public use in 1899 by
Pope  Leo XIII.  A partial indulgence is attached to this litany.

This litany to the Sacrd Heart of Jesus is an amalgamation of several litanies 
composed from the late seventeenth until the time of its approval in 1899.  

Father Croiset composed a litany in 1691 from which 17 invocations were used;

Venerable Anne Madeleine Remuzat joined an additional 10 invocations to those
of Father Croiset ;

6 more invocations written by Sister Madeleine Joly of Dijon in 1686 were added 
by the Sacred Congregation for Rites when it is was approved for public use.

This makes a total of 33 invocations, one for each year of life of our Lord Jesus
Christ.

	Father, we rejoice in the gifts of love we have received from
